Psychological services may involve discussing personal, sensitive or difficult experiences, thoughts, feelings, relationships or circumstances. This may sometimes lead to a temporary increase in emotional distress, anxiety or other uncomfortable feelings. Exploring workplace experiences may also increase awareness of existing difficulties or prompt consideration of changes to workplace relationships, communication, boundaries or circumstances. These changes may involve uncertainty or discomfort. Psychological services do not guarantee a particular outcome and may not always achieve the outcomes you hope for. Depending on your circumstances, other forms of support may be more appropriate or may be considered alongside psychological services. You are encouraged to discuss any questions or concerns about the service, its potential benefits and risks, or alternative options with your psychologist.
